Charlestown

Local Facilities – Store · Post Office · Pubs · Restaurants · Village Hall · Museum

Distance from Site – 2.5 miles

Charlestown is the site of the historic harbour of St Austell Bay, Cornwall and is an unspoilt, original Grade II listed location. Famous across Cornwall and beyond, Charlestown is famous again thanks to the BBC Poldark series.

The original cobbles remain and two Tall Ships are easily spotted. So, as you drive or walk into the village you instantly feel transported back in time. And Charlestown also has a small beach, which is sheltered by the harbour wall.

The village has a really good choice of refreshment spots and is a great base for a walk on the South West Coast path.
